Fes Medina: A Journey Through Time and History

The Fes Medina guided tour is a walking tour of the old Medina of Fes and is accompanied by an official local English-speaking guide. Your guide will take you to visit a synagogue to learn more about Jewish history. Later, you drive out to the North Borj viewpoint for great views across the city before taking a well-deserved lunch break in a typical Moroccan restaurant with a Sublime desert agency.

After lunch, you continue to the world’s most interesting and perplexing old city, known locally as Fes el Bali. Medieval Fes was one of the world’s great Islamic and Jewish education and culture points. Its religious institutions and libraries are renowned, as are its mosques. Within the bustling souks of Fes el Bali, the craftwork is considered the finest in Morocco.

You will go through its artisan areas, where little entrances and tight passageways reveal weavers and brass workshops, coppersmiths, and tanners, all of which produce magnificent things as they have for generations. Your tour will include visits to the oldest university, Madrasa Attarin, and Nejjarine Found Ouk, a beautifully restored 18th-century inn.
