Luxury desert tours from Marrakech to Erg Chebbi for 3 days/2 nights. We will start in the morning and we will cross the High Atlas Mountains at Tizi N’tichka pass (2260M). We visit the Unesco Ait Benhaddou Kasbah and the canyon of the Todgha Gorges, then we meet the Berber people and share with them a unique moment: a camel ride from Merzouga desert to the camp in Erg Chebbi, where we enjoy the sunset on the dunes. After sunrise and breakfast, we start our tour via the Col of Tizi-n-Tichka, back to Marrakech after our experience of a luxury desert tour from Marrakech.
Morocco Tour Itinerary:
- Day 1 itinerary: Marrakesh, High Atlas, Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, and Boumalne Dades: 6 hours
We pick you up at 08:00 from your hotel/Riad. We start our adventure with an authentic Sahara tour from Marrakech, then travel towards the verdant valley of Dades.
Then we drive through the Atlas Mountains and over the Tizi N’Tichka Pass at 2.260 m, which offers spectacular panoramic views of mountains, valleys, and colorful Berber villages. Then proceed to the Unesco-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the fortified Ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs.
Ait Benhaddou has been exploited as natural setting by different film producers. To find the Ksar, cross the river and go to the opposite side. After there, we’ll keep traveling south to Ouarzazate, which has earned the nickname “Hollywood of Africa” for its Atlas Film Studios, where a number of blockbuster films were filmed. Once you arrive at the Dades Valley and Kelaat Mgouna, the town of roses, in the south, spend the night at a hotel with dinner and breakfast.
- Day 2: Boumalne Dades-Todgha Gorges-Erfoud-Merzouga: 5 hours
After breakfast, our deluxe desert trips from Marrakech travel a brief distance to the Tinghir and Todgha Gorges, where you can enjoy a short hike to see the cliff-side scenery to admire the gorge’s high sides and the constricting expanse of sky above. From there, we will continue to Erg Chebbi via Tinjdad and the oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, famous for its date festival.
Between Tinjdad and Erfoud, you can stop to go down into the fascinating underground water channels deep below the earth, always cool and preventing the evaporation of this source of irrigation, and in Erfoud itself, you can stop to see the workings of thousands of fossils made into all sorts of artifacts. Lunch will be served on route, after which you will ride a camel through Merzouga to a luxurious camp where you can watch the sunset over the sand dunes, have dinner, and spend the night in a luxurious tent.
- Day 3: Merzouga -Ouarzazate-High Atlas-Marrakech: 9 hours
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes, and then enjoy your breakfast. We will continue our journey to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka Pass. We will arrive in Marrakech where we will end our amazing luxury desert tours of Marrakech.
