Desert adventure to Erg Chigaga will start in the evening from Mhamid, 2 days/1 night by 4×4. We will pass through different features of the desert, Hamada, Erg, Reg, and sacred Oases. Experience a trekking tour in Morocco, and Sandboarding at Erg Chigaga.

We will gather around the campfire after dinner to sing Berber music under the sky in the desert camp, Where we will spend the night in Erg Chigaga. Next, you have to wake up early to enjoy the mesmerizing sunrise and after breakfast, you will go to Mhamid the last point in our 2-day Mhamid excursion.

Erg Chigaga desert tours from Mhamid is an expansive Sahara desert, and dune near M’hamid El Ghizlane on the Morocco desert tour. It is one of the only places in the world where you can experience such a large expanse of Sahara desert sand without interruption.

At Erg Chigaga, you will find a unique, peaceful experience. The view of the endless desert stretches on for miles, and you can easily spend days taking in the tranquil atmosphere.

Morocco Desert Adventure to Erg Chigaga - Detailed Itinerary:

Departure after meeting your experienced driver around 3 p.m. at M’hamid (The last village before the sahara desert) to the magical dunes of Erg Chigaga. These dunes are far away from civilization with about 60 km of off-road, driven by 4×4 and passing different features of the Sublime desert, Erg, Reg, Hamada, and sacred Oases in remote area of the sahara.

The first stop will be enjoyed in the oasis in the desert, then, our off-road continues to our desert camp, where you will have the chance to experience camel riding and enjoy wildlife, and try Sandboarding in the sand dunes. You will get to watch the beautiful sunset from up one the high dunes of Erg Chigaga in Morocco to observe the sun doing down inch by inch in the most beautiful landscape of limitless sand dunes.

After having dinner, we gather around the fire to sing Berber songs under the stars before sleeping in the tent at Erg Chigaga.

We recommend waking up early in the morning to watch an incomparable sunrise in the great dunes of Morocco, and the shadows dancing with the dunes and sun lights is what makes it so special. Next to that, you will be enjoying your tasty breakfast in the camp. We hit the off-road again to return to M’hamid. where our desert adventure with the jeep to the high dunes comes to its end, there we bid the farewell to you with hopes to serve you next time in Morocco soon.

How far is Erg Chigaga from M'hamid on this tour?

M’hamid El Ghizlane to Erg Chigaga (via Oum Laalague oasis) distance is about 50 km (31 miles) off-road.

Are bathrooms in the standard desert camp?

Yes, there is shared shower located outside your tent with hot showers.(but in Luxury camp bathrooms inside the tent)

Are there electrical plus inside the tent where we can recharge our electronics?

There will be electrical outlets in the Sahara desert camp.

Can we hire Quad or Buggy?

Yes, you can. There is plenty of ATV rental company in Erg Chigaga that supply good quality quad bikes and dune buggies to try in Erg Chegaga dunes. Your guide will assist you with that, and you directly pay the supplier in Erg Chigaga. They cost 60 Euros per quad an hour and 140 Euros per buggy per person for an hour.

What do I wear for the camel ride?

Be sure to wear full and loose clothes on your camel trekking tour, especially in the Sublime desert. If you want to wear shorts, long shorts are recommended, Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes are also advised to make your camel trekking in Morocco more comfortable.
