Morocco Tour Agadir Desert - itinerary:

We will start at 8 in the morning; and depart on our adventure 4 day Agadir desert trip to Erg Chebbi, then pass through Taroudant, known as “the Little Marrakesh”, via Taliouine.

From here, the road continues to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the most famous Kasbah in Morocco and one of Morocco’s eight Unesco World Heritage Sites. Numerous Hollywood blockbusters were filmed here, and the sets are still mainly intact (Gladiator; Kingdom of Heaven; Asterix, Obelix and Game of Thrones).

There remain only a few kilometers to the town of Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night in a hotel, with dinner and breakfast.

Wake up to resume our trip; passing the oases of Skoura, where numerous ancient Kasbahs, some sadly in ruins, stand among the palm trees. From here, our route takes us through Kalaat M’Gouna, the Valley of Roses, where cosmetic articles are made locally from the valley’s abundant roses. These items are well-known and important across Morocco.

We will stop in the beautiful Todra Gorges where you can take a short walk to appreciate the steep sides of the Gorge and the narrow expanse of the sky above, and after lunch, we will continue our journey to Merzouga via Erfoud.

Then you will take a camel ride in the Merzouga desert toward the camp and cross the big dunes. Dinner and a night’s sleep are in a tent, and after dinner, we gather around the fire under a sky full of stars to sing the music of Berber.

If you wake up early enough you will be able to see the sunrise; when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows is breathtaking. The itinerary continues to the Draa Valley, via the village of Tazarine (featured in the film Babel).

Lunch someplace along the way. The excursion takes us to Tansikht in the afternoon to travel along the historic caravan route and explore the true Draa Valley with its massive palm trees and ancient ruins villages. At Agdez, dinner, and a night’s sleep in the hotel/Riad.

After breakfast, we complete our journey northwest from Agdez. Along the way, we pass beautiful landscapes and the Bouazer mines. This region of the country is more remote and undiscovered. Then we head toward Taznakht, famous for its barbarian rugs and carpets.

Later, we continue west to Agadir, and we cross the Tizi N’Ikhsane and Tizi N’Tighatine passes. The heart of the saffron-growing area of Morocco trip, and where there is an excellent little museum about the art of growing saffron. In the afternoon, the road takes us back to Agadir and follows the often dry Souss River and Argan trees on all the slopes of the hillsides back to Agadir, where we end our experience of the  Agadir desert trip for 4 days.
